Trying to get an approval to fly BVLOS can be frustrating. Some countries won't permit it at all, others will allow it under strictly limited circumstances and other still seem to have no concerns about it. The same drone which routinely flies BVLOS over parts of Germany will be confined to a Danger Area in the United Kingdom, yet in parts of Asia and Africa there are no such restrictions. In the USA one type of university can do readily while another, depending on their funding status cannot. There are multiple reasons for all of this, such as the varying population density or the amount of traffic in the airspace or the national appetite for "risk", whether societal or regulatory.
